Named after renowned scholar Professor Jao Tsung-I, Jao Tsung-I Academy is a historic compound selected as one of the projects under the “Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme” of the Development Bureau of the HKSAR Government. Covering an area of over 340,000 square metres, the Academy is divided into High Zone (the Heritage Lodge), Middle Zone and Low Zone. The Middle and Low Zone are equipped with activity rooms, resources centre, lecture hall, a restaurant, the gallery, heritage hall and a theatre. The Academy aims to promote Chinese culture. The compound is designed as if it is a Chinese classical garden.
