South Asian life workshop
How did South Asians, who are born and raised in Hong Kong, face the social exclusion and poverty issue caused by cultural differences? In this activity, participants get to look into the daily lives of Hong Kong born South Asians via short films and sharing from ethnic minority cultural ambassadors. Our cultural ambassadors will also share their personal experience to guide participants into understanding their struggles and needs in integrating into the society.

Apart from walking into the community, another good way of cultural understanding would be hands-on cultural workshop, with sharings and stories from Cultural Ambassadors, or having dialogues with youth from different ethnicities.
Colorful Rangoli workshop
Introduction:
Rangoli is an art form in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as colored rice, colored sand, or flower petals. It is usually made during Diwali or other festivals. In this workshop, participants will listen to the stories of Rangoli and try to make a Rangoli decoration using colorful sands.

Introduction:
Henna is commonly used for body drawing with the meaning of blessings. With the guidance of experienced Cultural Ambassador, participants will learn about the origin, meanings, and uses of henna, at the same time practice various henna drawing skills.

Introduction:
Arabic calligraphy is a part of Islamic cultural heritage. In this workshop, participants will learn how to write and pronounce Arabic words, as well as listen to the stories of Muslims in Hong Kong.

Nepali dance workshop
Introduction:
Through the Nepali dance workshop, participants can understand the specialty, origins and costumes of Nepali dance. Cultural Ambassadors will also share their personal stories of living in Hong Kong. The workshop is designed to boost participants' energy levels, co-ordination and rhythm in a fun and relaxing way.

Human library workshop
Introduction:
The human library workshop enables participants to understand multi-cultures under a relaxing environment, narrowing the distance between participants and Cultural Ambassadors while they have direct dialogues and exchange. It would be the best way to understand cultures, lives, and stories of ethnic minorities.

Central Tour(Face-to-face)
Introduction:
The ethnic minority community has a long history of living in Hong Kong. From the early 19th century, a lot of Indians were already working in the police station and jail. In the Central tour, participants will walk with Cultural Ambassadors to discover hidden places and multicultural stories in Tai Kwun.

Overseas cultural experience allows participants from schools, corporates or organizations to immerse themselves into the local communities, understand culture through different activities, share their talents through volunteer services, and interact with local people. Our cross-cultural team designs special cultural experiences, service learning, and visits to social enterprises and organizations.

Even though I am an ethnic minority myself, I don't really have much knowledge of them. This activity gave me a better understanding of the history of ethnic minorities in Hong Kong through different tasks. I have also found many halal meat shops in my community.
