- Walking Through Central: A Journey into Hong Kong’s Diverse Communities
We were delighted to organise a meaningful Central tour for the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassadors from the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), with the aim of enhancing the participants' understanding of Hong Kong’s ethnically diverse communities and deepening their understanding of diversity and inclusion. This journey invited participants to rediscover Central—not only as a bustling business hub, but also as a place where different cultures, histories, and communities have come together over time. Guided by our Cultural Ambassadors, participants began their journey at Tai Kwun, where they learned about Hong Kong’s ethnically diverse communities and witnessed the early presence and development of ethnic minority communities in the city. To make the experience more engaging, participants joined a mission-based activity that encouraged teamwork, observation, and discovery of multicultural stories in Tai Kwun, inspiring participants to learn more about diversity with curiosity and openness. “It was an excellent arrangement, visiting various places within Central makes it fun and comfortable.” “The group activity was interactive. It was fun to go to different places with other Youth Ambassadors.” In order to deepen participants’ understanding of diverse religious traditions, they visited the Jamia Mosque and Man Mo Temple—the oldest mosque and one of the most iconic temples in Hong Kong. A Muslim participant demonstrated ablution and prayer at the mosque, while a Chinese student introduced common practices at the temple to first-time participants. This cross-cultural exchange created an interactive co-learning environment, where participants shared knowledge and experiences across cultures. “The tour inspired me to learn more about the Muslim community and the history of Central and Sheung Wan district.” “This tour inspired me to respect and appreciate every culture no matter where you are from, everyone has a story behind it and it opens our perspectives just by listening to theirs.” Through the tour, participants gained a deeper appreciation of how diverse communities have shaped Hong Kong. The cross-cultural exchange fostered mutual respect and understanding, allowing them to observe how different traditions and beliefs coexist and contribute to Hong Kong’s vibrant and inclusive community. “It’s great to understand more about different cultures and to think about how to make a more inclusive society.” Through thoughtfully curated experiences, the tour offers multiple perspectives in an immersive, respectful setting. Participants gained deeper appreciation for Hong Kong's diverse communities and reflected on their role in promoting inclusion. We hope the Equal Opportunity Youth Ambassadors carry these insights into daily life, building a more welcoming Hong Kong. #WEDOGLOBAL #EOC #EOYA #eoc4equality #CommunityTour #Central #HeritageWalk #TaiKwun #JamiaMosque #DeclaredMonument #CulturalAwareness #CulturalKnowledge #Diversity #Inclusion #EthnicallyDiverseCommunity

WEDO GLOBAL is pleased to organize a South Asian Game Workshop for students from Our Lady’s College. The workshop is aimed to enhance students’ understanding towards diverse cultures and understand the challenges ethnically diverse groups may encounter in their daily life. In the workshop, students learned more about South Asian culture through interactive games guided by our ethnically diverse Cultural Ambassadors. - “Voices of Tomorrow” Training Programme 2025-26: Fostering Skills, Cultural Understanding, and Leadership Among Ethnically Diverse Youths
This year’s “Voices of Tomorrow” programme maintained its core focus on enhancing essential skills, cultural understanding ability, and opportunities for personal growth. WEDO GLOBAL as the training partner of Christian Action, curated ten sessions for the 17 ethnically diverse youths in the new cohort of the Diversity Hub's "Voices of Tomorrow" Training Programme. The program aims to build confidence, enhance communication and leadership skills, foster teamwork, and promote cultural awareness, enabling participants to apply these learnings in their schools, communities, and early careers. The training started with understanding themselves and others. As they explored different cultural perspectives, trainees gained a better understanding of their own identities and developed a greater appreciation for each other’s stories and backgrounds. This exploration strengthened bonds within the group, creating a safe and comfortable environment for sharing personal experiences and allowing them to support and learn from one another. "I was able to relate and empathise with everyone’s story which was really fulfilling. Hearing the diverse experiences of my peers helped me cultivate greater respect and understanding for others." Trainee Growth mindset was also a core focus of the training, trainees cultivated a continuous learning attitude, learning valuable insights from peer feedback. Their confidence grew through ongoing presentation practice, enhancing not only their intonation and body language but also their participation in discussions. Some quieter trainees also became more active in discussions and speaking up. These small yet meaningful actions demonstrated their improved communication skills and a strengthened belief in their ability to grow together. "I am finally able to present without stuttering or saying "whatever”, and I’m grateful for listening to others opinions.” Trainee "I noticed that they’ve become closer and more willing to share their personal stories and experiences, so there’s definitely a stronger sense of community. I’ve also noticed a few trainees became more confident as well, from the way they speak and present themselves." Trainer The trainees transformed from passive participants to active co-creators of their learning experience. In a session focused on mental health, one trainee took the initiative to lead a mindfulness exercise for the group. In later presentation sessions, trainees stepped into facilitator roles, showcasing their collaborative learning and growth. We take pride in the positive changes and improvements observed in all the trainees. The program equips them with essential skills to become leaders of change in an increasingly diverse world. Through the connections and insights they have developed, they are empowered to uplift and support others in their communities, foster collaboration, and make contributions to a more inclusive society. We look forward to growing alongside them and continuing our collaboration with all partners to further promote diversity and inclusion. #WEDOGLOBAL #ChristianAction #DiversityHubHK #VoicesofTomorrow #Training #Diversity #Inclusion #Empower #EthnicallyDiverseYouths #Resilience #TeamBuilding #Leadership #Career #Development #DiversityAndInclusion
- Bridging Communities: A Journey Through Wan Chai with CUHK D&I Ambassadors
Interacting with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and exchanging cultures can truly broaden our understanding of different communities. To foster a generation with a broad perspective, it's essential for students to experience diverse cultures firsthand. We organized a Wan Chai Community Tour for Diversity and Inclusion Ambassadors from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to guide students into the community, enriching their understanding of Hong Kong’s vibrant multicultural society. "It is a very nice way to explore the Sikh culture, their daily life and the religion. So good that Hong Kong has places where I can see different cultures. I have learned the importance of inclusion and openness." Through the activity, participants had the opportunity to learn about the daily lives of the Sikh community, observe and understand their customs, and directly interact with our Sikh Cultural Ambassador to deepen their knowledge. They came to appreciate key values like equality, service, and acceptance. This experience not only highlighted the importance of understanding diverse cultures but also emphasized the value of cross-cultural exchange. “This activity made me cultivate respect towards other cultures, and to ask questions to enhance understanding of cultures!” One of the most memorable highlights of the activity was visiting the community kitchen, where participants enjoyed traditional Indian vegetarian food together. The kitchen runs entirely by volunteers, with people of all ages and backgrounds collaborating to serve others, showcasing the spirit of generosity, selflessness, and sharing that crosses cultural boundaries and connects diverse individuals. Participants also met a young boy who chose to volunteer on his birthday—a heartwarming moment that reminded us how kindness and sharing can bring greater meaning and fulfillment to our lives. "It was an eye-opening experience, I like the food served and the culture, and the people I’ve met here." We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the students and staff from the Diversity and Inclusion Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong for joining us on this journey.
