- “Voices of Tomorrow” Training Programme 2025-26: Fostering Skills, Cultural Understanding, and Leadership Among Ethnically Diverse Youths
This year’s “Voices of Tomorrow” programme maintained its core focus on enhancing essential skills, cultural understanding ability, and opportunities for personal growth. WEDO GLOBAL as the training partner of Christian Action, curated ten sessions for the 17 ethnically diverse youths in the new cohort of the Diversity Hub's "Voices of Tomorrow" Training Programme. The program aims to build confidence, enhance communication and leadership skills, foster teamwork, and promote cultural awareness, enabling participants to apply these learnings in their schools, communities, and early careers. The training started with understanding themselves and others. As they explored different cultural perspectives, trainees gained a better understanding of their own identities and developed a greater appreciation for each other’s stories and backgrounds. This exploration strengthened bonds within the group, creating a safe and comfortable environment for sharing personal experiences and allowing them to support and learn from one another. "I was able to relate and empathise with everyone’s story which was really fulfilling. Hearing the diverse experiences of my peers helped me cultivate greater respect and understanding for others." Trainee Growth mindset was also a core focus of the training, trainees cultivated a continuous learning attitude, learning valuable insights from peer feedback. Their confidence grew through ongoing presentation practice, enhancing not only their intonation and body language but also their participation in discussions. Some quieter trainees also became more active in discussions and speaking up. These small yet meaningful actions demonstrated their improved communication skills and a strengthened belief in their ability to grow together. "I am finally able to present without stuttering or saying "whatever”, and I’m grateful for listening to others opinions.” Trainee "I noticed that they’ve become closer and more willing to share their personal stories and experiences, so there’s definitely a stronger sense of community. I’ve also noticed a few trainees became more confident as well, from the way they speak and present themselves." Trainer The trainees transformed from passive participants to active co-creators of their learning experience. In a session focused on mental health, one trainee took the initiative to lead a mindfulness exercise for the group. In later presentation sessions, trainees stepped into facilitator roles, showcasing their collaborative learning and growth. We take pride in the positive changes and improvements observed in all the trainees. The program equips them with essential skills to become leaders of change in an increasingly diverse world. Through the connections and insights they have developed, they are empowered to uplift and support others in their communities, foster collaboration, and make contributions to a more inclusive society. We look forward to growing alongside them and continuing our collaboration with all partners to further promote diversity and inclusion. #WEDOGLOBAL #ChristianAction #DiversityHubHK #VoicesofTomorrow #Training #Diversity #Inclusion #Empower #EthnicallyDiverseYouths #Resilience #TeamBuilding #Leadership #Career #Development #DiversityAndInclusion
- Bridging Communities: A Journey Through Wan Chai with CUHK D&I Ambassadors
Interacting with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and exchanging cultures can truly broaden our understanding of different communities. To foster a generation with a broad perspective, it's essential for students to experience diverse cultures firsthand. We organized a Wan Chai Community Tour for Diversity and Inclusion Ambassadors from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to guide students into the community, enriching their understanding of Hong Kong’s vibrant multicultural society. "It is a very nice way to explore the Sikh culture, their daily life and the religion. So good that Hong Kong has places where I can see different cultures. I have learned the importance of inclusion and openness." Through the activity, participants had the opportunity to learn about the daily lives of the Sikh community, observe and understand their customs, and directly interact with our Sikh Cultural Ambassador to deepen their knowledge. They came to appreciate key values like equality, service, and acceptance. This experience not only highlighted the importance of understanding diverse cultures but also emphasized the value of cross-cultural exchange. “This activity made me cultivate respect towards other cultures, and to ask questions to enhance understanding of cultures!” One of the most memorable highlights of the activity was visiting the community kitchen, where participants enjoyed traditional Indian vegetarian food together. The kitchen runs entirely by volunteers, with people of all ages and backgrounds collaborating to serve others, showcasing the spirit of generosity, selflessness, and sharing that crosses cultural boundaries and connects diverse individuals. Participants also met a young boy who chose to volunteer on his birthday—a heartwarming moment that reminded us how kindness and sharing can bring greater meaning and fulfillment to our lives. "It was an eye-opening experience, I like the food served and the culture, and the people I’ve met here." We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the students and staff from the Diversity and Inclusion Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong for joining us on this journey. This experiential learning opportunity enabled the participants to deepen their cultural understanding, actively promoting diversity and inclusion on campus. #WEDOGLOBAL #CUHK #Multicultural #CulturalTour #Community #EthnicMinorites #Respect #CulturalDiversity #Education #Diversity #Inclusion #Service
- Colors of Inclusion: Rangoli Coaster Workshop
Do you know what "Rangoli" is? We have organized a Rangoli Coaster Workshop for the students in The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). A diverse group of students joined us to learn about the traditional Rangoli art, creating their own Rangoli Coaster. The workshop was led by our Cultural Ambassadors and we shared how Rangoli is created at home and during festivals, offering participants an authentic glimpse into South Asian culture. “This activity introduced the situations of some ethnic minority communities in Hong Kong, allowing me to experience their culture through the creative process.” One of the memorable parts of the workshop was an open discussion on how different cultures perceive "beauty." As students and Cultural Ambassadors exchanged ideas passionately, forging genuine connections. This perfectly shows how curiosity and open communication enable us to better understand each other's cultures. “The process of making Rangoli was relaxing amid our busy lives and allowed me to enjoy the feeling of slowing down and focusing on one thing at a time.” We appreciate the enthusiastic participation of students in learning different cultures. By participating in the workshop, students are not just learning a new art; they are taking steps to build a more inclusive and harmonious society. #WEDOGLOBAL # EDUHK #RangoliWorkshop #Multicultural #CulturalDiversity #Inclusion #Respect #Collaboration #CulturalAmbassadors #Wellbeing

- An Interfaith Dialogue Through Cultural Experience
We are glad to host the Wan Chai Cultural Community Tour for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The experience invited participants to explore Sikh culture and faith through open dialogue and shared reflection, inspiring deeper understanding and appreciation of Hong Kong’s multicultural community. “The parts that impressed me the most are the ambassador's experience sharing and the tour to the prayer hall. It was my first time entering the Sikh temple, and it was a very exciting and eye-opening experience. We should embrace our differences more.” Through meaningful conversations with Cultural Ambassadors, participants learned not only about the religion’s beliefs and practices, but also about its strong values of equality, service, and acceptance. The open exchange of experiences helped bridge perspectives, allowing everyone to reflect on how understanding other faiths can strengthen harmony in daily life. “We are different yet equal. Good to know the differences and be open to accept them to bring us together.” For many, the visit sparked new insights about community and compassion. Sharing Langar, the traditional Sikh communal meal, became a powerful expression of unity — a reminder that inclusion thrives on humility and generosity. "The reflection this activity has brought me is communication and learning from each religion will improve understanding, and enhance peace." Through this interfaith experience, participants left with open hearts and renewed curiosity — recognizing that cultural diversity, when embraced, can connect and enrich us all. Regardless of our faith or cultural backgrounds, we unite in prayer and action for a more peaceful and harmonious world. This initiative reflects our mission to nurture empathy, respect, and intercultural competence — helping individuals build a more harmonious and inclusive Hong Kong. #WEDOGLOBAL #CommunityTour #Empathy #EthnicallyDiverseCommunity #Service #Multicultural #CulturalExperience #Diversity #Inclusion #Education #Interfaith
- 100 FUN Chinese Class Outing: Building Confidence and Connection
WEDO GLOBAL is delighted to collaborate with The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute to organize an outing experience for our ethnically diverse students from 100 FUN Chinese Class, where they had the opportunity to explore The Mills alongside dedicated volunteers. The Mills, known for its historical significance in Hong Kong’s textile industry and creative transformation, provided the perfect setting for a day of discovery, language learning, and meaningful cultural exchange. From the moment students arrived, they were warmly greeted by volunteers and Cultural Ambassadors, ready to guide them through activities that made learning Chinese practical and enjoyable. Students picked up new Cantonese vocabulary—from numbers and colours to animals and clothing—through real interactions and playful conversation. These simple exchanges not only strengthened their language skills but also fostered confidence and curiosity in using Cantonese beyond the classroom. "The interactive activities are very meaningful, rich in content, and help us gain a better understanding of the needs of ethnically diverse children." The groups encountered the stories of Hong Kong’s textile heritage, sustainable living initiatives, and even friendly community members with their pets. Each encounter was unique, demonstrating how every experience becomes a learning opportunity when we engage with empathy and openness. Through dialogue and interaction, both students and volunteers discovered that learning flows both ways—everyone has something valuable to share and something new to learn. "I like the small group combination of students, volunteers and Cultural Ambassadors. As it leads to a beautiful input of several opinions and sharing from different lifestyles." By the end of the day, many students who had initially been shy or hesitant to speak found themselves communicating comfortably in Cantonese with the volunteers. Many volunteers shared how rewarding it was to witness these transformations. For some, it was their first time engaging closely with ethnically diverse students, and the experience offered fresh perspectives on cultural diversity and inclusion. Together, we showed that by fostering connection through conversation, we can help children and youth grow in confidence, explore and understand more about our communities, and build bridges across cultures—one interaction at a time. #WEDOGLOBAL #TheMills #HKCGI #Diverse #Inclusive #CultureExchange #Volunteer #Service #Community #Outing #Experience #UnityInDiversity #CreatingImpactTogether #LearnAndGrow

Every Cultural Ambassador training session embodies our vision and values — continuous learning, meaningful connection, and inclusion. In our recent training, we were excited to welcome both new and experienced Cultural Ambassadors as we continued to grow together. “I received a wonderful welcome from all the members, which made me feel more confident. This training also inspired me to face challenges and overcome my fears.” This session focused on strengthening key skills such as perspective-taking, recognizing patterns of thinking that can lead to unconscious stereotypes and biases, being aware of them, and appreciating diverse experiences. Through interactive activities, Cultural Ambassadors explored how empathy and perspective-taking deepen connections and enhance teamwork, realizing their vital role in promoting cultural understanding and inclusion in our communities. “The presentation really made me think beyond my own views.
